Our community constitutes more than 5,800 members who represent 57 chapters, and each council continues to grow every year as we recruit new members. College is an amazing experience, but what makes it a unique and life-changing experience is becoming a part of a fraternity or sorority.

In 2015, an anonymous police report alleged that the Florida State University chapter was forcing pledges to fistfight in the basem*nt of the fraternity house. The chapter was temporarily suspended by the university. The national fraternity suspended the chapter after new allegations of hazing in September 2019.

There is no minimum grade point average required for registration; however, it is strongly recommended that you have at least a 2.8 high school and/or college grade point average.

Some of the alleged violations included consumption of alcohol under the age of 21 and hazing. Phi Kappa Tau was put on probation this past spring through the summer. After even more hazing allegations came to light, the national headquarters made the call to shut down this chapter.

All of the sororities will have to drop a percentage of potential new members after Round 1. This percentage is different for each sorority. The most competitive sororities will drop the largest percentage (typically 65%+ of all potential new members).
